| Being the first to market doesn't’t guarantee beating the competition, but it certainly is a large step forward. However, in order to get that head start, a web of logistical issues – from procurement to equipment preparation – must be dealt with for efficient operations. To fully leverage this strategy, all logistical issues must be resolved at the lowest cost available with minimum time delays. This requires thorough, effective preparation and planning. The JIT system can take a process from preproduction to production without waste or delays – if integrated correctly. |

| Purpose of seminar |
This seminar aims to teach how to successfully implement a high-quality production system that minimizes resource investment and time commitments. It is also designed to allow participants to identify where improvement is most needed at their workplace, then to implement 3P in the targeted production system and help you acquire Kaizen skills to apply in your own workplace through the filed exercise with mockups. |

Anyone in charge of production (product designers, production controllers, production engineers, equipment maintenance personnel, etc.), who recognizes the importance of Kaizen activities and has knowledge of and experience with basic Kaizen methods — regardless of the type of product, market, department, or technical expertise. |

Teams are formed of one consultant and several seminar participants. In a workplace (Gemba), each team is given an
assignment for Kaizen from a host plant.

Learn about the flow of target products and lines |

Draw material and information flows, manufacturing process diagrams (fish-bone) and process at-a-glance for the current situation |

Analyze functions to determine necessary functions |

| Day 3: |

Define keywords from the necessary functions |

Create seven ideas per keyword and design them |

Narrow down to 2~3 designs based on the Evaluation Checklist |

Make a mockup with cardboard boxes |

Make a mock up with wooden boards |

Create an implementation plan: |

| Day 5: Presentation of the results and convivial party |
| |
Each team member makes a presentation on the results of their group’s Kaizen ideas using analysis before and after, as well as the final results of their proposed Kaizen activities. Our consultants offer comments and suggestions to each group’s results.
Afterwards, a social event is planned so participants have an opportunity to “network” and informally discuss their ideas and observations. |
