Senji Niwa, Chairman of the Board
Mr. Niwa joined Shingijutsu in 1989 as a consultant and was promoted to Executive Vice-President in 1997. He led Shingijutsu's first consulting practice primarily for production lines. In the spirit of Shingijutsu, he founded SGC with Kumi Iwata Otake in 2003 and became Chairman of the Board.
Prior to working for Shingijutsu, Mr. Niwa's extended career at Toyota Boshoku Corp., a leading manufacturer of air-filter and interior components for automotive and textile products, spanned 33 years. He served in various sections, including production control, manufacturing, and production research. As one of the key members of Toyota's Autonomous Study Group, Mr. Niwa vigorously implemented the Kaizen and JIT methodologies on the production lines of the Toyota group's companies. He is also a star pupil of Mr. Ohno (an originator of the TPS concept). Mr. Niwa received his B.S. degree from Nagoya Institute of Technology.
 
Kumi Iwata Otake, President and Chief Executive Officer
Ms. Iwata Otake joined Shingijutsu in 1987, at the formation of the company, as a Chief Financial Officer and Director. She was in charge of the company's general affairs, assisting her father. Since 2002, Ms. Iwata Otake has contributed to establishing solid relationships with U.S. clients, including Boeing. As a result, many U.S. clients admire and trust her business sense and policies. She currently is President of SGC, based mainly in Washington, USA.
Prior to working for Shingijutsu, Ms. Iwata Otake worked for Toyota Tsusho, and was in charge of exporting spinning machinery to mainly Asian markets. She is a graduate of the English Department of Gifu City Women's College.
 
Takashi Shimura, Executive Director, 2nd Division
Mr. Shimura joined Shingijutsu in 1993 as a consultant after his long career at Isuzu Motor, Ltd. He was promoted to Senior Vice-President in 2000 in recognition of his valuable contribution to Shingijutsu. He joined SGC on the Board of Directors at SGC's incorporation in 2003. His knowledge and experience in the areas of the forging process, metal molding, machine design, and Gemba Kaizen (productivity management, quality and inventory control) are outstanding.
 
Katsuya Koide, Executive Director, 1st Division
Mr. Koide joined Shingijutsu in 1994 as a consultant with primary responsibility for the automotive industry. He supported the formation of SGC and later joined SGC's Board of Directors in 2003, and also serves as a Senior Consultant.
Prior to working for Shingijutsu, Mr. Koide served Toyota Auto Body Co., Ltd., for 31 years in the Quality Control and Production Management departments. He was a group leader in Toyota's Autonomous Study Group, where he vigorously implemented the Kaizen and JIT systems in the Toyota group's member companies. Mr. Koide received his B.S. degree from the Engineering Department of Iwate University, majoring in metal engineering.
 
Shoichi Numata, Senior Consultant
Mr. Numata joined Shingijutsu in 1998 as a consultant, and joined SGC in 2003.
Prior to working for Shingijutsu, Mr. Numata built his career in the Kaizen system at Hokushin Corporation as a Kaizen Promotion office leader. He received his B.S. degree from the Industrial Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Engineering Department of Chuo University.
 
Takeshi Iwata, Consultant & Auditor
Mr. Iwata joined Shingijutsu in 1999, and joined SGC in 2003.
Prior to working for Shingijutsu, Mr. Iwata engaged in promotion of the Kanban system in the production and distribution departments at Rinnai Corp. His expertise is in the areas of materials and information flow. He received his B.S. degree from the Commercial Science Business Administration Department of Aichi Gakuin University.
 
Keiichi Okajima, Consultant
Mr. Keiichi Okajima joined SGC in 2005 as a consultant.
Prior to working for SGC, Mr. Okajima engaged in the promotion of Production and Office Kaizen at Hokushin Corporation for 26 years by creating and implementing systems and programs for Kaizen throughout the corporation. Mr.Okajima received his B.S. degree from the Electrical Communication Engineering Dept. of Tokyo Denki University.
