Philosophy

Mission

We begin by going on-site (Gemba), observing real conditions, and gaining a clear understanding of the current reality. From this foundation, we work together with our clients to design systems that truly fit their needs.
By embedding Kaizen(continuous improvement) into the culture and nurturing individuals who think and act independently, we can help drive sustainable growth and support the achievement of long-term strategic goals.

Vision

To realize a society where Kaizen is not merely a methodology, but a deeply rooted culture.
Together with our clients, we drive innovation in quality, productivity, and cost competitiveness, and build systems that adapt to the next generation.
We aim to support the growth of people and organizations at on-site around the world and to contribute to sustainable industrial development.

Value

Commitment to Gemba (On-site Principle)

We go to the actual site, observe the real objects, and grasp the facts. Kaizen begins at the on-site — not from data or theory alone.

Kaizen that Develops People

Developing individuals who can drive Kaizen on their own, tailored to each client’s culture and characteristics, embedding Kaizen into the organizational culture.

Challenge with Conviction and Passion

With pride as pioneers in Kaizen consulting, we work hand in hand with clients to achieve tangible results through unwavering belief and passionate commitment.

Message from
the President

For nearly four decades since our founding, Shingijutsu Global Consulting has stood alongside clients around the world—driving Kaizen through hands-on collaboration at the source.

Our mission goes beyond introducing Kaizen as a methodology. We aim to embed it as a living part of each organization’s culture. Achieving business goals requires steady, purposeful progress: improving today over yesterday, and tomorrow beyond today. Through this ongoing pursuit, people grow, and organizations become stronger.

Kaizen transcends borders and industries. Every site presents unique challenges—and within those challenges lie opportunities for transformation. With unwavering conviction and passion, we walk with our clients as true partners in shaping a better future.

Our Services

Since its founding in 1987, Shingijutsu Global Consulting has delivered Kaizen consulting worldwide, rooted in the philosophy of Taiichi Ohno, the architect of the Toyota Production System.

We address critical management challenges—such as quality enhancement, productivity improvement, and cost reduction—by providing hands-on guidance at the on-site. Our defining strength lies not in merely teaching theories or methodologies, but in deeply engaging with the on-site, executing improvements alongside our clients, and cultivating talent in the process. This approach ensures that improvement becomes embedded throughout the organization, leading to sustained competitiveness beyond temporary initiatives.

Our support extends beyond manufacturing to include service industries, healthcare, IT, and more. We offer a universal approach: eliminating waste and enhancing value. As pioneers in Kaizen consulting, we are committed to empowering companies around the world to achieve lasting growth.

History

Shingijutsu Global Consulting was founded in 1987. For more than 35 years, we’ve delivered hands-on Kaizen support at sites across Japan and around the world.
Our strength lies in the ability to clearly understand what’s happening on-site—seeing beyond surface issues to grasp what truly matters. This deep insight, which remains relevant regardless of time or trends, is what sets us apart as a trusted leader across many industries.

1987–2002

Toyota DNA and the Roots of Gemba Kaizen (On-site Improvement)

Shingijutsu Co., Ltd. was founded in 1987 by Yoshiki Iwata, who brought with him deep experience from Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd. —where he learned directly from Taiichi Ohno, the originator of the Toyota Production System.
The company began by offering Kaizen consulting services within Japan. In 1989, after expanding into Taiwan and receiving an invitation to speak at a Kaizen seminar in the United States, we shifted our focus toward global engagement.
Since then, we’ve continued to grow internationally, providing hands-on Kaizen support across industries and borders.

2003–2016

Continuing the Founder’s Vision: TPS Beyond Manufacturing

In 2003, Shingijutsu Global Consulting Co. was founded to carry forward the vision of our late founder, Yoshiki Iwata: To build client-specific production systems that foster continuous talent development and drive profitability.
The founding team included trusted senior consultants who had worked closely with Iwata:
Kumi Otake, his longtime deputy and head of administration; Senji Niwa, a protégé of Taiichi Ohno and then Vice President; and Takeshi Iwata, our current President.
In 2004, we expanded internationally by establishing Shingijutsu Global Consulting USA Inc. in Bellevue, Washington. This move allowed us to collaborate with local consulting partners and extend our hands-on Kaizen support.
The principles of the Toyota Production System apply far beyond manufacturing. Today, we support sustainable improvement across a wide range of industries—including healthcare, finance, insurance, and IT—by helping organizations tackle core challenges directly at the worksite.

2016–Present

Expanding the Toyota Production System beyond manufacturing

Since Takeshi Iwata became President in 2016, Shingijutsu Global Consulting has evolved its approach to improvement—moving beyond traditional methods to deliver structured, management-integrated solutions.
We start by listening closely to each client’s challenges and goals. From there, we design improvement strategies that align with their business priorities and long-term vision. Depending on organizational maturity and on-site conditions, we guide clients through a phased journey—from foundational practices to advanced applications—ensuring that every step delivers measurable results tied to key business indicators such as KGIs and KPIs.
Furthermore, we place great importance on an approach grounded in on-site facts and data. By quantifying and visualizing the effects of improvements and linking them to overall corporate performance, we foster an environment where executive leadership and worksite teams pursue the same goals.
In addition, in recent years we have incorporated online guidance and support as needed, expanding Kaizen activities beyond the limitations of location and time.
Thus, our Kaizen initiatives are not limited to improving work efficiency; they represent a systematic and hands-on approach that drives outcomes at the management level. Acting as a bridge between the shop floor and executive leadership, we remain committed to supporting our clients’ sustainable growth and competitive advantage.
